Hi

I'm in trouble with an IBM DTLA-307047 model 46 Gb
when powering up it emit a noise like if the heads
cannot be loaded or if the disk do not rotate at the
good speed.

Heads seems to be loaded/unloaded several times
then it stops. The disk is rotating but cannot
be accessed by any recovery software I used.

I think is it a hardware problem but need a workaround
as data on this disk are VERY important to me.

any infos trick welcome !

Thanks

That last bit is in conflict with what you say below.
Heads seems to be loaded/unloaded several
times then it stops. The disk is rotating but cannot
be accessed by any recovery software I used.

Most likely the drive cant read the data on the platters
properly at boot time. The noise you hear is the drive
recalibrating in an attempt to read the platters, but
that never succeeds, so the drive is never available.

Correct.

but need a workaround as data on
this disk are VERY important to me.

Then you had better pay the very
high price for professional recovery.

Its stupid to be risking that data doing anything else.
any infos trick welcome !

Fraid there arent any.
