Problem with HTML mail - POST doesn't work

Hi,

When I receive an html mail containing a link, I have some weird behaviour.
Behind the link there's a simple POST of a form to pass parameters to a
certain page. The strange thing is, sometimes the parameters are not passed
to the page. When I reboot my computer, restart outlook, go to the mail, and
click on the link, the first few times (4 or 5 times), the parameters are not
passed. Then suddenly the 5th or 6th time everything got passed correctly. So
the POST doesn't do his work every time....

When a GET is used instead of POST, everyting is ok. But since the length of
the url is limited then (and for me a lot needs to be passed), this solution
doesn't help me out.

Someone encountered this problem before? What is the reason and/or solution
for this problem?

I use Outlook 2002 SP-2 and Internet Explorer 5.5 SP-2

Thanks in advance,
Jens.

Aside from technical issues with the mail created itself; tried it on
another system already? Also try it after updating to Outlook 2002 with SP3
+ additional hotfixes and IE6SP1 + additional hotfixes (I reckon you don't
run Windows XP?) so we know for sure that we aren't chasing solved bugs (if
it's a bug already).

Tips of the month:
-FREE tool; QuickMail. Create new Outlook items anywhere from within Windows
-Properly back-up and restore your Outlook data

This is normal behavior, if unexpected. Outlook supports only GET in HTML form submissions from messages. I imagine that it's a security issue. I'm surprised that POST worked even on the 5th try.

Thanks your answers.

At least now I know that a POST is just not supported by Outlook 2002, so I
can stop my search on that.
Unfortunalty an update to another mailprogram is not that easy, since the
problem is situated at a customer I work for. It's a big company so an update
has a huge impact (I heard the next update will be 2 or 3 years from now).

Anyway, they will have to accept the GET method, and reduce the parameters.

Thanks again!
Jens.
