I have a word 2003 template that has been developed by my company for writing reports etc. It must have some sort of formatting that is mucking up footnotes, every time I try to insert a footnote it adds in additional page breaks, chopping up the paragraphs on the original page so they are now spread across several pages. The footnote itself appear about half way up the page and the footnote line appears directly below the paragraph not allowing you to type anything else on that page.
I've tried clearing all the formating in the document but can't get the footnote to work properly. Any suggestions?
