Good Day, We were trying to install Active Directory,
everything went well from DNS setup to Active Directory
Configuration. We pointed 2 - 3 computers to test the
directory service its working alright. but when we tried
to connect or browse to the internet with external names
such as yahoo.com or google.com. the clients cannot find
the said sites. I learned that we have to remove the "."
from the forward lookup zone so that clients will be
forwarded thru root hints. but if we remove that the
active directory service wont work...

please help!!! thanks!

Why won't it work? It should. All servers and workstations should specify
*only* the internal AD-integrated DNS server's IP address in their network
settings. The AD-integrated DNS server should be set up with forwarders to
your ISP's DNS servers for external resolution (I wouldn't rely on root
hints alone). See
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;300202 for more
info.
