Problem with drives

BlankI'm reinstalling after a major crash which required a new HD.
Everything seem to install properly, until I noticed that the drive letters
were not what they were supposed to be. The letters E and F seem to be
missing from the pull down letter list in the Computer Management tool. Is
there any way to restore the missing letters to the list?

Also:, although my Pioneer DVR 106 burner seemed to install correctly on my
D:\ drive, my OS C:\ drive folders and files seem to be trying to share the
D drive as well. However, the OS C:\ Drive works just fine. Any answers
for this behavior, other than I just may not be doing it right? I'm 70+
years old and feeling rather stupid at the moment. Thanks anyone for your
help.

Best regards,
Bill

Bill, the only reason I am familiar with those drives being missing from the
drop-down list is if they are already assigned.
You would need to re-assign the drive that is using those letters to a new
drive letter before they will become available again.

Can you describe more the behaviour you are seeing where OS files are
showing up on your DVD drive? That behaviour is not ringing any bells.

Thanks for your response, Chip! I'll get back to you as soon as can check
out some things. Be back soon.
