Hello,

When i double click on a pps file, it does nothing,
there's just a powerpoint task on the task bar as it was
minimized but i can't maximise it i just can close it.
When i start powerpoint application and after oepn the pps
file it works fine.
It's powerpoint 2000 under W2000
thanks to help me if someone know this problem.

Sounds like your file association is bad. Open Windows Explorer, click the
"Tools" menu and click "Folder Options" (may be under the "View" menu on
older operating systems). Click the "File Types" TAB. Scroll down until
you find "Microsoft PowerPoint Slideshow" and click on it to highlight it.
Click the "Advanced" button (might be "Edit" button depending on operating
system). Highlight the "Open" action and click the "Edit" button. Click
the "Browse" button and go to the folder where you have the PowerPoint file
located. Your text box would look like this if you have Word XP on Windows
2000:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\POWERPNT.EXE" /s "%1"

The part that might be different is the actual path to POWERPNT.EXE, but the
last part must be typed exactly as you see it. This consists of the
following:

space
slash (by SHIFT key)
quote
percent
1
quote

That ought to fix your problem. If not, holler back!

Oh crap, let me try this again:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\POWERPNT.EXE" /s "%1"

space
slash (by SHIFT key)
s
space
quote
percent
1
quote

There, I feel better!
