im running windows xp, and i have a problem. when i want
to change my display properties, it tells me "Your system
administrator disabled the Display control panel."

I am the administrator of the computer, but yet my
display is disabled - how can i enable it?

The other users of the computer have no problems.

Thanks,
Wick

Did you install and use TweakUI for any settings?
If so, you may want to review the below support link.

Yes, I used a tweaking program, however, i cannot change
the registry file, as suggested in that link you gave me
Kathleen., but thank you for trying :)

If there is anyway to fix this, I will be be truly
thankful :)

| Yes, I used a tweaking program,

That KB article relates to using TWEAKUI (ver.1.33?) in Windows Millenium Edition.

Exactly which "tweaking program" did you use?

Exactly why are you unable to " change the registry file"?

Did you do this...

[Start]
| Run |
regedit
[Enter]

Navigate to this sub-key...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Remove the "NoControlPanel" value.

In any case, in order to enable the Display Icon in Control Panel, I suggest you visit MS-MVP Kelly's website at
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Note the instructions at the top of the page,
then scroll down to line 203,
(Restore Display Icon in Control Panel)

Right-click the hyperlink, then click | Save Target As |
to download the file, "displayrestore.reg",
then double-click the file and follow the prompts.
