Since I installed software from a controls company, my
computer will display German and English in the same
program ( mainly the dialog boxes appear in German ). This
has happened to not just on computer but three. Is there a
way to fix this without reloading windows.

I ran into the same issue. All my Word templates are now in JapaChinese not sure which.

tried this, settings were in English (US) and german was
not an option on the languages.
Did not work.....

Any other suggestions

Languages in Windows 2000 can be "initiated" in different ways. One way is by the application. In thias case there would usually have to be what are called satelite dlls which contain the dialog text in a language different then the machine's system locale. The application should test your system locale and if it is not what the default of the application expects it should use the satelite dll to render the test correctly. That may not be working in your case.

I don't think there is a Windows 2000 fix here. You need a fix for the application. I have a Zip program that when the context menu is used for this application off Windows Explorer, Explorer's status bar reads in Japanese or some such language. This occurs in every machine I have tested this application in. What that means is that the manufaturer is not using the System locale correctly. It is a flaw in the software. Not Windows.

I presume this is the only application you are seeing this in.
