I am trying to delete a user account in windows XP pro. When I do this, the program locks up and I get a program not responding message. This happens when I attemt to save old user files, or delete. I am completely logged off of the account that I want to delete, and the good account has full priviliges.

How much stuff do you have running in the background. If
needed, try removing that account from safe mode. That
should eliminate whatever is causing the computer to
freeze.

I'm having the same problem as Kevin and i get the same results "program not responding".I don't have any other programs running when i'm trying to delete the account
I hooked my daughters up with their own computers and now i want to delete their accounts from my computer. It did let me delete one but the other account which is the largest just won't let me delete it.I have tried serval times and i always get the same message "program not responding"
I'm new to the computer and just learning things as i go along. Is there another way to delete this account?Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Reaching into the past, I know. But did you ever get a solution? I am
having the same problem. I have tried disabling all anti-virus prgrams.
still no luck
