Problem with Defender

I downloaded windows defender. tried to install. but I get an error saying
I need GDI+ and to
load windows 2000 security software prerequisite pack. I searched for this
on your website and found NO results.
I did down load gdidetool.exe and gdiplus_dnide.exe but that didn't help

So I am unable to use Defender. So....
