I've had this with two Windows 2000 servers, actually SBS 2000.
In one case the VPN was to another W2K server, in the other I think it's a
VPN concentrator (very close mouthed 3rd party).
A permanent demand dial interface was created and successfully connects. If
for some reason the link fails (local or remote loss of internet) the
connection attempts to re-establish a number of times. If some limit is
reached the connector no longer tries to establish. At this time the system
suggests the credentials for the connection have not been set. Nothing can
be done at this point to re-establish the connection, except restart the
server. When the server is restarted the connection is again established
without setting the credentials.
We have tried resetting the credentials.
We have tried restarting relevent services (RRAS/ISA).
any thoughts appreciated.
