Hi,
yesterday I opened my pc to change an HD. When I started the pc I saw
that the colors were very stange! the red was like black, the green was very
light and the other colors also weren't corected. I tried to remove the HD
but I had the same problem with the color.

What can I do ?

My hardware configuration is:

MB MSI kt3 ultra
AMD Athlon 1800+
Ati Radeon 800
512 MB ram

Thanks in advance

Check whether the video card is still fully inserted in the
slot. Check the monitor cable and video card power cable
too if the card has one. Did you disconnect AC before
getting inside the system, and did you ground yourself to
prevent ESD?

Sounds like a bad video cable...

If the red is gone you won't get red, yellow or magenta. You should still
see green and blue.

It's possible that the video card is broken, but not likely.

Your video settings didn't revert to standard VGA did they? Right-click
your desktop and choose properties and then click settings and see what your
resolution and color depth are set to. If they are low (640x480/16 color,
etc.) try installing the latest Catalyst driver package from ATI's website.

Most likely a monitor problem. Has your monitor been exposed to moisture in
any way? I once woke up one morning, turned on the PC and realized that my
colors were crazy too!

But I left it for a while and it was ok coz the moisture evaporated.

Might be this simple - unplug your video/monitor cable and check that the
pins are not bent.

I tried the monitor with a laptop and it worked well.
I also tried the video card in a pc at work and it worked well.
The colour are incorrect in bios also and if I boot the pc with a floppy the
fonts are blue not white
I think that the problem is the motherboard...

Any idea to solve this problem ?

Thanks a lot
