I am at my friend's house and his computer shows both his
cdroms on Device Manager as not installed. I get this
error message:

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its
configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete
or damaged. (Code 19)

He says that he did nothing he knows to corrupt his
registry. I have tried to uninstall both and re-install
using "add new harware" and they both are found but they
both show up as before with the same error messages.

Anyone help?
Thanks

I am having this exact same problem. I was given this
link for help:

check it out, could be your solution especially if you
recently uninstalled Roxio software.

(I still have my problem because I am not able to delete
the Keys from the registry they tell me to. Waiting for
my own helper to come along.)

go to the microsft knowledge database and get article #
314060. Follow it exactly. It fixed my problem, which
was the same error you described.
