Problem with cd drive

I can not hear my cds now. Nothing is mute. I can hear my sounds on My pc but
Now when I go to play my cds on the pc I hear nothing . None of my players
work Not the Musicmatch or the real player or the Quick time. I mean they
all work but I hear no sound they apear to work but no sound comes out. How
ever any other sound works. the sound whild I an sufferin the net . the IM
sound the email sound ect... HELP.. Nothing on Mute.. I have Gateway windows

It's something simple but, did you open your volume control panel and verify
that all of the mute boxes are unchecked? Did you try adjusting some of the
volume settings while a cd is in and playing?

Do you have volume control on your speakers? I experienced this problem
recently, when a visitor used the controls on my speaker to cut off the
sound, which I never do and probably never would have thought of, if they
had not still been here, when I complained about my "no sound" problem. :)
