Problem with capitalization on master slide

Gerry Wolff

I am trying to type some text in CAPITALS in the footer of a master
slide but PowerPoint insists in converting it all to lower-case,
except for the first letter which is capitalized.

I have tried unsetting all the capitalization options in the Auto-
correct panel and turning off auto-correction altogether but it makes
no difference.

Can anyone explain what I need to do to prevent PowerPoint from
changing my text in this way.

With thanks.

Gerry,
Are you typing the text of the footer directly into the footer placeholder
on the master? And the same thing happens when you use View - Header and
footer and type in the text of the footer there? What happens if you select
the placeholder and press shift+F3? Does it change?

Yes, I was typing directly into the footer area of the master slide.
Thanks for the tip about using View/Header and footer. That seems to
have fixed the problem.
