Problem with burning cd or dvd.

hi,
i am looking for one freeware which could quickly scan the discs burn by me
and check the data contained in these discs are in good condition.
now after i have burn one disc ,in order to make sure the disc is okay and
the data inside the disc can be read ; i spent quite a lot time to use copy
& paste to
ensure the disc is not corrupt.
i have used nero (which is bundled with my dvd writer) but it's spend also
quite a lot of time.
i wonder is there any freeware which can do this job in a quick and reliable
way ?
