Problem with boot sequence

I recently purchased a new pc with Windows XP home edition installed. At
the same time I got them to leave 2 old hard drives connected. Making 3 hard
drives in total.

What's happening is that sometimes when I power up(press the button in) it
will boot from the old drive containing Windows 95 and then other times the
new Windows XP.

Can someone out there help me to stop this from happening?

Quadruple check your CMOS/BIOS settings for the boot order. When you boot
your PC it says something about Press ESC to enter Setup (or something like
that) so do so and check it. Without more information that's all I can give
you.

Galen,

At what time do you press the "Esc" button, and how do check the CMOS/BIOS
settings?

Dan.

Right after it boots - during the POST but before the OS begins to load and
it may or may not be ESC. That's just the most common that I see. It can be
F10, Shift + ESC, etc... In there you'll see, ideally, a bit about boot. It
is never the same and varies from vendor to vendor.
