Problem with automatic backup on a Seagate External Hard Drive

I had not had a problem for a while when One Care tried to automatically back
up my files on a Seagate external hard drive. I was told that this EHD was
not compatible with the Viusta 64 bit, but it backed up files anyway. Now
I'm told that there is a corruptible file?? in the EHD and automatic backup
is not occurring. I can send file sto the EHD, though.

What would be a good external hard drive to have for my Vista 64 bit pc.
I'm not very adept at computer things, but I do think I need to have an
external hard drive that will allow automatic backup from Windows OneCare.

Thanks for your help.

For compatibility you may want to contact Seagate Support at:
http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/

For the External Seagate drive I have, Seagate does not provide Vista
drivers. Seagate uses the drivers provided with Vista. If your external
drive installed with no errors and Device Manager shows that the drive is
operating properly, than the drive is compatible with your Vista 64 bit OS.

Seagate provides utilities on the external drive that install after the
drive is installed. The Backup program Help lists versions of Vista that are
compatitable. A 64 bit version of Vista is not listed. I may be that your
backup program is not compatible with Vista 64 bit even through the drive
itself is compatible. Thus I suggest you contact Seagate support.
