Hi all,

Can somebody please help me. I have a problem. I am
unable to open the "Administrative tools" button in
control panel. I have Windows XP. It simply does not
respond. I also tried right-click and open, but of no
use. I suspect, this was caused due to an XP update that
I recently installed.

I need to access the ODBC source where I need to work
with Access databases.

Alternatively, if anyone can provide me the "Run"
command, I will be very happy.

Thanks,

Shankar

Thanks a lot to both of you Fritz and Carey Frisch. The
run odbcad32 was what I ultimately wanted to do and hence
got to it.

The Administrative Tools Restore, restored the registry,
but it still does not work. So I guess, there seems to be
other problems with my computer as my CD writer software
also is not working. so I have to back up now using the
network and then restore the XP.

Thanks a lot.

Great. That worked. Do you know a similar command for
Administrative tools? Just curious. Where would I find
some documentation on such commands?

Thanks

do a search for *.msc on your system "c:\windows"

some common ones:
compmgmt.msc = Computer Manager
services.msc = Services
