Hi,

I had added about 3 printers to my printer (2 via network) but suddenly one
day there weren't listed in 'My Printers'. I tried to add them again but it
always show a message showing:

'' Windows can't open Add Printer. The local print spooler service is not
running. Please restart spooler or restart the machine''

So i restarted the machine but still got the same message.

PLease tell me what a 'print spooler' is and how to solve this problem

Thank you,

Armand

The print spooler is a service that must run in order for the system to see
and use printers.

Start>Run>services.msc [enter]

or Start Orb>Search box>type: services.msc

When services.msc appears in the Results box above, right-click it and
choose "run as Administrator". Scroll down to the print spooler and start
it. Also make sure it is set to Automatic.

You don't give any details about your computer, the printers, or the

Hi,

If you are using vista, your printers drivers or out of date. You can
download new ones via the manufactures website. If that isn't the problem
check if all the connections are good and if the printer isn't using USB 1.0.
If that doesn't help try connecting a more resent printer and look if that
works. If it does that means that the old printer isn't working properly. If
it doesn't there might be a problem with your computer

Reply with more details about your computer
