Problem with accessing files on CD drive

In attempting to copy files to CD-RW I discovered that I couldn't copy over
or delete existing files on CD-RW. In checking the attributes on the files I
found that they were all "read only". I found the same results on other
previously used CD-RW. When I try to change/eliminate the "read only"
attribute, I receive the message "access denied". I did discover that the
box to allow CD recording under CD drive properties was not checked, so I
checked the box. This made no difference correcting my problem.
