Problem with a refreshing screen and XP Theme

Yesterday for some reason my computer started refreshing the screen at random
times. When I switched back to windows my theme had changed as well to the
classic theme instead of the blue and green start button. I thought at first
it was my monitor, but I am using two screens and both are refreshing.

Im new to windows and I don't know how to get my the normal theme. Or if I
should be worried why it changed in the first place! I tried going to "Change
the computer's theme" and it says Windows XP (Modified). I was playing a game
outside of windows when all this began so I don't know what happened.

Any help would be amazing!

I don't know what "playing a game outside of windows" means. Windows XP
is the operating system, which allows you to run programs. Unless you
have a dual-boot machine and you booted into another operating system
to run your game, you were running the game from Windows XP.

Since we know nothing about your computer, its hardware, or the game I
can only guess that the game somehow corrupted your video card drivers.
Reinstall them:

Never get drivers from Windows Update. Get them from:

1. The card mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if onboard video; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM
computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the
drivers.

If fixing the drivers does not help, then perhaps your video card is
failing. Post back with more details as mentioned above if you want
more help.
