Problem,Windows Media Player comes on when starting up

Can anyone help? Just today, when I start up my computer,
the Windows Media Player always comes on my screen, taking
up most of the screen. I don't know why. I always have to
click on "file", then exit or just "x" it out before
clicking on anything on my startup screen. This is very
irritating and don't know why it started happening. I need
help.
