Hi all,

I'm a newbye and i hope that this is the place to my question.

My purpose is to install win98. I made fdisk and now I wont to install the
os from CD-ROM so I chouse the option of loading with CD (using the startup
disk) and the switching to d:\, when I'm trying to use the commands: cd or
dir I got the message: "invalid media type reading drive D"

What am I doing wrong??

thanks,

If you are using a win98 boot disk the cd letter would not be D but E because
ram drive is installed as D. Are you sure the cd rom is able to read your
instalation disk?

Just a guess, the 98 disk used D: as its own ramdisk. The CD-ROM is E:. The
start up disk should have told you where everythink is.So it is E:\setup to
start.

After fdisk re-boot. Then format C:, then install Windows 98.
