When I start windows the "My Documents" window opens twice on the desktop
automatically. This did not occur before I had a new motherboard installed.
Does anyone know how to stop this from happening ? Thanks in advance.

Depends.....without knowing more:

Some users have reported having the Worm_Dandi.A. You can run a free scan
from here: http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default2.asp

Suggestions:

Go to Start/Run/control folders/View/Uncheck Restore previous folder windows
at logon.

Create Separate Processes for the Desktop and Explorer

This problem can be caused by the DlDer Trojan. More information here:

Other checkpoints:

Run: My Documents Folder Opens Upon Boot (for C:\) Right hand side - Line
255
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon.

In the right pane under Userinit, Change the key that reads:
C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe,C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe

To: C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe,

Another checkpoint to consider:

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to these keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

If the folder in question is listed, place the entire path in quotes.

I had the problem where windows would automatically open an instance of the
My Documents folder when logging in. After finding this post and trying
Kelly's recommendation below for removing the duplicate entry of of
Userint.exe my problem has been fixed. I now can log in to Windows without
My Documents automatically opening.

Thanks Kelly!
