I have a Windows 2000 with Outlook 2000.

When a link is clicked in an email message in Outlook 2000, Internet
Explorer opens but the URL it is opened to is always the same...

http://search.netscape.com/nscp_results.adp?query=iexplore&source=NSCPRedirect

This machine had netscape installed at one time and has since been
uninstalled.

I have tried all the solutions from the MS Knowledge Base and none
have worked...

Is there a solution that I haven't tried?

make sure Internet Explorer is your default browser and try searching the
registry for left behind (Nescape) keys?

Good Luck and let us know!

I think I solved it. I had to go into each of the URL registered file
type associations and actually REMOVE the open action and recreate it
for each one.

Even though the settings are still the same as they were before, it
seems to have worked.
