I have a rules problem with outlook XP after upgrading to SP2. I have a rule
to test messages upon arrival for specific words in the subject or body. I
want outlook to permanently delete those messages. The rule worked fine
until I upgraded to SP2. Now I get a message saying "unable to run rule you
don't have permission on specified folder" or something to that effect. I've
searched MS support to no avail. Any help appreciated.

Um,. yes. I'm not that ignorant. That's why I posted the message, if I
had tried these and they worked, I wouldn't be here.

Well you wouldn't be the first in the newsgroup that skips (for some of us)
the obvious.

Are you using Outlook stand alone or are you in a corporate enviroment using
Exchange? Also clearing the Deleted Items folder sometimes fixes the problem
with automatically deleting items.

Hope this helps!

Well, what do you know. That did it. I'll make that a 10 on the wierd
shit'o'meter.

Thanks a bunch,
Bob

And the answer to your previous question is I'm using Outlook as a POP
mail client. And the problem has resurfaced after a reboot of my
'puter. This is an ugly problem me thinks.
