Problem w/ Link 2003

Draft

I created a random season and started the first round of the final week.
Upon finishing the 18th hole (which I beat my computer player in tournament
play) the game gets hung up. The hole results state that the hole was tied
(which I won) and freezes up. I've installed the latest patch from MS for
the game which doesn't address the problem. I've looked on the web link for
the game but didn't find anything to resolve it. Has anyone experienced this
and is there a fix for this. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Hi Draft,

The "Hole is tied" error message, is not uncommon unfortunately.

Others have reported similar issues with the game and custom created seasons using Links 2003 Championship courses. It doesn't
happen with default courses.

This seems to be an issue with the game and it has been reported by players
to Microsoft Product Support and ultimately to their development team. They
might release a patch update. Current Links 2003 updates are available at:
http://www.microsoft.com/games/links2003/support/default_2.asp

In the meantime, I can suggest the following workarounds:

1. Create tournaments using the default Links 2003 courses

Default Links 2003 courses are:
--------------------------------------
Cambrian Ridge
Kauri Cliff
Skeleton Coast
The Centenary Course at Gleneagles
The Ocean Course at Cabo del Sol
Tribute at the Otsego

2. Withdraw from the current tournament and continue the rest of the season.
3. Create Seasons without Invitational Tournaments.

Would you guys like to try some basic troubleshooting with us here,
or would you prefer to contact MS to report the issue? Either way

| I can't offer any help, except to say your not alone. My installation does the same thing. I don't know if M/S monitors these
newsgroups, but if they do, I would say there is a bug somewhere since this problem is indpendetly reproducible.

I'll attempt a repro on Monday when I can get my hands on the media.
I'm going to assume you're on XP SP1... could you both post what video cards
you're running, along with some basic system info?

Glad to be of service,

However... it turns out I really can't play golf. Making it to the final
week, finishing the 18th hole, and beating my opponent is beyong my
abilities... :) Could one of you email me your Roster (ROS) and Season
(SEA) file so I can plug them into my install and attempt a repro?
