Just restored a machine back to factory settings. (OS+XP-HM w/SP2)
Clicking on Desktop-located web-links cause IE-7 to partially open, i.e.
frame edges only are displayed - application then locks up. If IE-7 is
first opened, links then work.

Note: Had this problem with original machine. Back then, someone in this
group noted a fix. Please, what is needed now again to fix this problem.

Tks!

Do these help?

The problem I am having is IE-7 crashing at Square One. Meaning, a NEW OS
install (w/IE-7) - the NEW being a Total RESTORE. Experienced same when
comoyter was new. Gateway has been totally unhelpful saying this is a
Microsoft problem..

NOTHING added other than MS's Office 2007, Quickbooks, Acrobat and Norton
System Works. A very simple configuration. No games (boring??). Also
installed printer drivers (Brothers and HP). Thus nothing that could
corrupt, as I understand it, IE-7 right from Square One.

Thanks in advance for some clear guidance. BTW, when this happened with the
new machine, "someone" provided a quick, clear, and working solution.
Should have saved his/her directions!
