Problem Viewing the DVD

Hi All! I have a slight situation here. I'm trying to make a DVD viewable on
my HOME DVD player! I try to use "Windows DVD Maker"; the DVDs are only
playable on my computer. The DVD player gives me an error, when I insert a
DVD in it, "Unknown Diskâ€. I made all of the settings correct! I set my
"Region" correct! Only viewable on my computer though! I want to make 6-8
minute chapters to separate the video! For people that don't understand: when
you are watching a movie, factory made one, it has "CHAPTERS", scenes in
other words. You saw the movie till 40th minute, and went to sleep. Next
morning you want to start not from beginning of the flick, from 40th minute.
So you start watching it from beginning, and you skip "chapters" until you
get to the 40s minute. (If the chapters are 10 minutes long, even), (could be
one is 10:24 long, next is 7:54 long, next one is 4:31 long, and so on).
Please help me to burn a "TV Ready" DVD???

Maybe you could try different media...
and maybe your DVD player will not
play a home made DVD.

So what is your conclusion? The DVD, after I open it, DOES NOT have those two
folders. "VIDEO_TS" and "AUDIO_TS". So therefore that is why it won't play it

Could be many reasons, lets get straighter with what you have and what you
have done.

This newsgroup is for windows xp, so do you have that and media centre, so
that you can burn dvds direct from MM?

Do youhave vista, and dvd maker?
If so, it'd be better to ask questions in the .vista.music_pictures_video
newsgroup, where you'll get others who are using the programme to help.

Add to your question the route you took to get ot the dvd, what settings you
chose, what type of dvd, your dvd player, whether it is compatible with the
discs you are using.

DVD has it's specifications adn these are adhered to more by some dvd
players than others.

Thank you! Will ask there! Thank you again!
