Problem viewing and printing table lines in 2002

In our office we have identical Dell laptops using docking stations.
Powerpoint has been installed via a network administrator so all the
software is identical. In a number of powerpoint files ONE person
cannot see or print the lines on tables that are in the powerpoint.
Everyone else who has opened the same files can see and print the
files. I've checked TOOLS-OPTIONS and nothing is different. Also
looked under VIEW, couldn't find anything. The drivers are all
installed by the same network administrator and are identical. I am
entirely baffled. (I'm not really an expert at this, but the experts
seem baffled too.) Any suggestions? Thank you.

Check the video/graphics driver for the problem system. Also try changing
hardware acceleration. (instrux at http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00129.htm )

Also make sure the printer driver is installed locally to the laptop -- and
that the default printer is the same for the problem system as the okay
systems. Changing that might just make a difference, you never know.

Thanks. We tried changing the default printer and the following
happened: It now prints the lines but still cannot see the lines on the
monitor. It gets stranger yet.

We emailed one of the errant files to someone who has AN EXACT
DUPLICATE computer, same server, same printer, same everything. The
lines showed up! Now, we then opened the same file off the server and
no lines were to be seen. We saved the emailed file(that showed the
lines) to the server and when we brought it up there were no lines. We
emailed the attached file that worked BACK to the originator and it
worked until it was saved to the server. This is happening with ALL
the PPT files on the server. What sort of gremlin could be hiding on
that hard drive that has a diet of table lines?

Oh, how frustrating!

I don't have any ideas.

Are the two systems running the same resolution and color depth?
(Right-click desktop, choose properties, head to Settings.) Did you try the
hardware acceleration thing?

Thanks yet again. We aren't administrators so can't try the hardware
acceleration. I can't check the other until tomorrow because the
person with the problem is out of the office today.

You've been very helpful and thoughtful. Thank you!
