Hello,
I did not want to write until i exhausted all my attempts at fixing the
issue myself, but now I am here. Currently, I am running Win XP Pro and
IE6, along with Office XP Pro.
My major issue is not being able to view ActiveX boxes with either IE6, nor
FP2002. I checked all my security settings, disabled the WinXP firewall (i
have a WebRamp hardware firewall, aka SonicWall), and have even used AdAware
6 Pro and SpyBot S&D to remove any small amounts of spyware. I even checked
on www.microsoft.com for any Knowledge Base articles, and found only 1
related to this problem
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=240897), but it's strictly
for Win2K, not XP. It basically says you must have Admin permissions, which
I do. It also does not mention IE6. The funny thing is, I checked to see
if I have ActiveX installed...yep, i do. Plus, I am current in all my
Windows and Office updates.
Perhaps something else is preventing me from viewing ActiveX?
Since I have web pages to edit that have the "window within a window" (a la
ActiveX), i really need to see what's inside that window upon viewing. Not
being able to see the ActiveX window inside the web page with neither Front
Page 2002 nor IE6 SP1 (1298-bit) is very frustrating. I could see it fine
in Win2K with IE5.5, so I am at a loss.
Please help. Thank you -- if you need my email, it's (e-mail address removed).
