Problem using Word 2000 Professional

When my Dell laptop is connected to my network, Word
works just fine. However, when I disconnect from my
network and try to use Word, it keeps shutting down. Is
there some setting that I need to reconfigure that deals
with networking or what? I'd appreciate some help on
this so I can use my laptop without being connected to my
network. Thanks!
 
Did you do a network install of Word? It may require access to the
network file share from which it was installed... Try reinstalling
Word and selecting to make component available on the computer, not
from the network.
