Problem uploading digital photos

I've recently upgraded to XP professional from windows
2000 professional. When I connect USB port to upload
digital snaps from my JVC digital camcorder, it suggests
that it has found new hardware. When I insert the software
CD supplied with the camera, it finds the drivers but they
are not digitally secured. So, if I continue, it'll let me
use the functions for that particular log-in session. If I
don't continue, it does not create a removable disk.
This was not a problem with Win2000. How can I fix it?
Please help.

In XP, it is generally best installation practice to install the
software and drivers before connecting a camera or printer the first
time. There are exceptions, but most installation instructions ask for
this practice, and non-certified, but XP compatible, drivers typically
install with no problems. Now, this assumes also that the driver is
compatible with XP. Some Win2K drivers will work in XP, some not. You
should check with the vendor's support site for XP compatible drivers,
and follow the installation instructions for that particular camera.
Otherwise, count yourself among the fortunate few who have been able to
make their older cameras at least work in XP with a Win2k driver.

Thanks for your support. As you suggested, I had installed
the software immediately after XP installation before the
first use of camera, assuming XP will handle drivers side
of it. Exactly same as done with Win2K. The digital camera
is only 12 month old. Have you heard about JVC not working
with XP? Their website is not much of a help.

If XP drivers for the camera are available, only JVC will have them.
You might try on http://www.driverguide.com/ for alternatives, if any.
