HI,

I am getting the 0x80240022. The wrong diskette is in the drive. Insert %2
Volume Serial Number: %3) into drive %1 error

I have tried the suggested solution.. where you go into run and remove the
last signature file... but it still does not work!

Can someone please tell me what to do :-(

Very early in the beta, Steve Dodson gave this set of steps for a similar
complaint:

1) Uninstall WD thru Add/Remove Programs in the control panel

2) Launch cmd prompt

3) Type in "MsiExec.exe /x {A5CC2A09-E9D3-49EC-923D-03874BBD4C2C}"
(without the quotes)

4) Delete all contents of Directory of C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Definition Updates

5) Reinstall Windows Defender Beta 2

I tried these instructions, even rebooted after the uninstalls for good
measure, but still no luck. Any other suggestions?

I'm in agreement with Tom Emmelot's advice. I think that route should work.
I can post the omnibus Microsoft Windows Update troubleshooting document,
but the "fix" program is easier and faster.
