Everytime I transfer a DV using Windows Moview Maker, the images become
darker. i.e. Beach Scenes transfer from a bright image to a darken image.
Is there a way to correct this problems. I am using a Cannon ZR200 Mini Dv
tape. Any ideas??

Not sure hardware wise (got the correct NTSC/PAL settings?) - but you could
use the brighten feature (once or twice or...) in WMM2 effects?

First choosing dv-avi as your import settings will retain the original
quality.

Try exporting the same movie back out to the cam and watch it on your tv -
what's it like? It should be identical to the original.

If it is, what you are seeing is the different way pc monitors display the
colour information, plus video is interlaced and pc monitors don't show this
plus MM only shows a low quality preview, 640x480 at best and only every
other frame. Each of these will make it look poorer on the pc.

If it isn't the same, then we need to look deeper at what you are doing, pc
specs etc.
