Hi everybody,
I enountered this problem when installing a new TCP/IP printer and found
that a lot of people also have this error. The solution shown in MS KB
Article Q261302 did not really work.
By using Sysinternals FileMon and comparing against a working W2K server
system I finally found the file which caused the problem (no idea from where
I got it): snmpapi.dll
The non-working version in c:\winnt was 4.0.1381.164 and the filesize was
25KB. After replacing it with the version 5.0.2195.6601 from
c:\winnt\system32 (18K B), I was able to install a new TCP/IP printer
again!!!
I hope, this hint helps all of you with the same problem...
