I have two machines networked via D-Link router.
Both machines are running XP PRO.
MACHINE 1 is named 'AMD' because it is AMD-based.
MACHINE 2 is named 'PENTIUM' because it is PENTIUM-based.
All FIREWALLS are DISABLED.
I have two printers, both connected to MACHINE 1's USBs:
HP895CSE
HP A-I-O PSC950
MACHINE 1 has both printers set up as 'shared' with
all 'PERMISSIONS' set to 'ALLOW', and with share-names:
hp895cse
hppsc900
MACHINE 2 has both printers set up as 'not shared' with
PROPERTIES>PORTS set as \\AMD\hp895cse & \\AMD\hppsc900, respectively.
I can print a 'TEST PAGE' on both printers from MACHINE 1.
I can print a 'TEST PAGE' on MACHINE 1's hp895cse from MACHINE 2.
I cannot print a 'TEST PAGE' on MACHINE 1's hppsc900 from MACHINE 2.
Instead, the printer window on MACHINE 1 just shows Status - 'Error
- Printing'. The printer window on MACHINE 2 shows nothing.
Just for kicks - I tried setting MACHINE 2's printer up as 'shared'
(even though it is not a shared local printer), but that changed
nothing.
So what is wrong here?
Help?
