problem setting up/accessing site

Trying to help someone set up a new site. When I go to the site on FP and
open a new web, it says volume is inaccessible or may be protected with a
password. No password set on it he says. I did go in and set up a subfolder
and I can access it and work live on the site and publish to that folder, but
not the main folder.
How can I get the main folder to open. Site is www.lovelydovesofrome.com
subfolder is www.lovelydovesofrome.com/myweb/index.htm

You don't open/create a new web at the location of the main account. You just File Menu | Open Web /
Site in FP and then start working.

What you have done is create a subweb / site called "myweb".
