Problem setting outlook as default

Right now my default email is apparently set as Windows Mail. I have been
trying to change to Outlook 2007. I am running Vista 64 bit OS. When I go
into default programs and try to customize settings I receive an error box
stating that there was a problem loading the page. Error message 80070483. I
cannot see the extentions and protocols that I assume I need to set.

I have tried selecting set as default program and this has not seemed to help.

This is only when selecting Outlook in the Default Programs section of
Control Panel or when loading the Default Programs applet itself?
In case of the first; try doing a repair on Office.
In case of the second; ask in a newsgroup for Windows Vista.

PROBLEM FIXED!!
It's a VISTA X64 and OFFICE 2007 problem in LINKING EMAIL-CLIENTS
You'l need to do:
REGEDIT
First, make a backup of the key below, with key export within
"REGEDIT"
Then, go to the KEY: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail"
Delete the SUBKEY: "Microsoft Outlook"
Go to "Default Programs" and try RE-SETTING "Microsoft Outlook 2007"
to DEFAULT again.
Problem Solved.
Bye.
