Problem saving slideshow to CD

I have created a slideshow with WMM2 but no matter what I have tried so far I
can't get it completely saved to a CD. It will save to a certain frame and
then stop although the music continues to play and/or it cannot be viewed on
my dvd player. I did manage to save it ONCE and it played on my dvd player
but it only saved a portion of the stills and all of the music. I am not a
computer wizard.....

We've seen other reports of this behaviour especially on timelines with a
lot of transitions.

Sometimes just trying to save your movie again will work, as it doesn't
always repro 100% of the time. If in your case it is consistenly failing
then the other suggestion I have is to save your movie as a DV-AVI file
first. To do this, when you're on the Movie Settings page choose "Other
Settings" and select DV-AVI from the list (if Other Settings isn't visible
then click "Show more choices...").

Play back the resultant DV-AVI file to make sure that it's OK. If you
ultimately want a DVD, you should be able to import that DV-AVI file into
Sonic MyDVD. If you want to save it as a WMV file to save disk space you can
also import the DV-AVI file back into MovieMaker, drag it down to the
timeline then publish it again as a WMV file with your choice of profile.

In this particular case it shouldn't matter what CD you use as the problem
occurs when MovieMaker is creating the WMV file on the hard disk before it
starts to burn it to CD. Note that if you download and install SP2 we did
add a fix in MovieMaker so that this problem is far more unlikely to occur.

SP2 is the latest service pack released for Windows XP. You should be able
to pick it up from Windows Update any day now. It includes a number of bug
fixes one of which should help with the problem that you're running into
now.

You can get more details on SP2 from the following link.
