When I insert a video clip from file (CD) and then save
the ppt presentation, upon running the show the video clip
runs from the CD, not from inside the presentation -- i.e.
it always calls for the external file rather than running
from within the ppt file. How can I change this so that
the show can be run on machines without the need for the
video clip to be saved on those machines?

Thanks for your help

Ben

You cannot. Videos are always linked. Save the video file from CD to the
folder where the presentation is saved. Them delete and reinsert the video
from its new location. Now the CD will not be required when you play the
presentation. For sending the presentation to other people, you must also
send the video file and tell them to save both files to their hard drive in
a single folder. Then they can play the presentation from the hard drive.

When creating your presentation first create a folder
with all your video files in the folder then create your
presentation in that same folder. When you tell your
computer where to find that video direct it to the video
within the folder. When you go to move your presentation
to another computer move the entire folder. That way
when the presentation looks for the video file it has the
correct mapping.
