Hi everyone,
I was wondering if someone could help me with this problem.
I recently built a new computer:
P4 3.0GHz
Asus P5P800 Motherboard
80GB Seagate SATA HDD
Win XP Home
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200
The problem is, when I first started using the computer, programs would shut
down after about 5 - 10 minutes. Sometimes the whole computer would shut
down. I concluded the computer was shutting down because the PSU wasn't
powerful enough. I fixed that by getting a new Antec 480W PSU.
But I still had programs shutting down. I was using two sticks of 512MB PC
3200 Kingstons. I took out a stick of RAM and then everything was fine. No
problems at all. I swapped the two sticks around and still had no problems.
When I tried them both together again, I was getting crititical errors and
shutdowns again.
I want to have 1GB of RAM. Will a single stick of RAM work, or is there
something I'm doing wrong?
TIA
