problem running most games with 9800pro

Just switched over from a gf3 ti500 to the ati 9800pro. I bought the card to
play NASCAR Racing 2003 and it blows away the ti500. But I cant seem to get it
to work with 90% of the other games on my system.
I get a message saying no dx8 video drivers found or not enough video memory or
no 3d graphics card found.
Heres a brief list of games I'm having probs with
Madden 2k3
GTA Vice City
NHRA Drag Racing
Dirt Track Racing 1 and 2
F1 99-02
Pro Bass Fishing 2002
The list goes on.
I already had dx9b installed and was running all these games with the ti500.
I'm running the latest drivers from ATI's site.
Any ideas?

I went back to the drivers that came with the card and all games run now!!!

Did you uninstall the NVidia drivers before you installed the ATI
card?

Quite simply your drivers are not correctly installed.

Oh, and use Det Destroyer to get rid of your old nVidia drivers, they've
been known to cause problems when converting to ATI.
