I'm running into a problem with some web sites and running Java applets.
The system has been running fine until a couple of weeks ago.
Java 1.6 is installed and running correctly. Installation has been verified
at java.com site.

With some sites I get errors stating that java is not installed

Windows version?

What anti-virus, security (e.g., firewall; anti-spyware) applications do you
have installed?

I'm running Windows XP Professional SP2.
CA eTrust Antivirus v7.1.501
Zone Labs Integrity Client firewall v7.0.5

I'd first start to see if a ZA setting or "protection" is interfering.

NB: Simply disabling ZA might not disable the "protection".

Post an example URL. Also tell us if you ever tried IE7.
E.g. "some sites" misinterpret User-Agent strings and give
erroneous messages as a result. Etc.
