Why does microsoft want us to beta test their software but not give us the
proper tools or support to do so? I have been trying to send problems with
their beta client but it is out of date. So i tried to update it and it said
to uninstall the old one (for longhorn) and reinstall the new one. I still
get the longhorn beta client and it won't let me update it. I can send
problems but how do i know if MS is even getting them? Or if they will study
them if they are from a supposed longhorn build even though i am running RC1
Build 5728. The error message i get is this Unable to delete package.

Hi,

Proper support for beta testers is found in the private beta groups, not
these public ones. These groups are for people who just want to see what
Vista is all about. These users, CPP participants, are not beta testers and
the pages preceeding the download clearly indicate that this pre-release
software is not supported.

Microsoft is interested in all responses, both suggestions and bug reports,
but don't expect anyone to read them all as there are tens of thousands
every day. Most are scanned and batched by various groupings. Bug reports
are processed by servers that determine the more commonly reported bugs
which is in turn where their resources are then concentrated.
