I HAD to buy a new HD. My old is starting to fail ,Good thing I decide to peruse Maxtor
site 2 Dl new utility and it told me it's failing
Having one heck of a time just getting one of the jumpers off to configure it to
master. it's not the regular jumpers that have a metal piece going horizontial
acorss so the needle nose can grab it but it's just plastic and it's small. The dummies
could've least left it
sticking out a bit.

Anything any1 can think that will get it out. I have tweezers and needle nose. I can not
get it off even if I have both sides of the needle nose going tight on it and when I pull
the pliers just snap off

I would have thought the tweezers would have done it. I suppose that
you can bend up a paper clip so that you can get behind the jumper.

It may sound stupid but are you sure it's a jumper !. I have a couple of
Maxtors and the end pins (J42) have what appears to be a jumper but in fact
is only on one pin and fixed.
