Problem reinstalling printer!

My printer was deleted from one of my computers on my network by my son, now
when I try to reinstall the printer it says the printer is installed but when
I go to print something it say to install a new printer or find a printer on
the network, also I have checked the installed printer and fax folder and
there is nothing showing in it. I have also checked my belarc advisor program
and it lists the printer as installed? Tryed to uninstall and reinstall and
the samething happens! I think something is missing! I have windows home xp
service pack 2 (build2600) installed and I tryed to reinstall my windows
edition and it says I have a newer version installed so I guess I can't try
to repair to see if it corrects it? And I tryed to system recover and it
won't go back far enough! Any Ideas?
