I tried publishing to three different sites and with all
three, I got a server error message. I find it hard to
believe three different sites w/ three different servers
would have the same problem at the same time. I also
tried rebooting with no luck.

I uninstalled fp and reinstalled (rebooting in between)
and am getting the same errors. The weird thing is, I
moved my webs folder before uninstalling and after
reinstalling, when I opened fp it opened to the web I
last had open. How can it know which web I last had open
when it's supposedly a new install? I need to desperately
update one site and don't have a control panel that I can
use. Microsoft's chintzy support apparently only gives
one incident (which I used when I had win98 se and had to
download an update in order to install fp) and so I have
to either pay or I guess buy another copy of fp (as if
microsoft doesn't have enough money already).

Can anyone help? thanks.

What specific error
Do you have a firewall installed?

The error said either the server didn't have extensions
installed (they all three do), or server error, or a
couple of other possibilities none of which could be the
problem. I've been publishing to them for over a year
with the same configuration on my computer. The only
firewall is the one that comes with winxp. I've never
changed the settings on it in the past and have had no
trouble publishing.

Gale, I'm having this problem too and NEVER have had it
before using FP2002. See my post of the 16th asking
Thomas Rowe for help. He is looking into the possibility
of a problem with an IE update. Somebody better figure
out what's wrong, because I have a client who's been
waiting over a week for his site to be up and running!
