I have imported a MPEG movie file that I captured using a capture device. I cannot edit it with movie maker because it will not show a picture when playing. THere is audio but no picture.

Try converting it to an avi file, which are far easier to edit and work
better in all editing apps.

I also had this problem as well. All you have to do is load Movie Maker, go to the bottom where the time line is, and click the film icon that says "show storyboard". Now just drag the movie to the first square below. Hope that helps.

That does not work. It just sit there and then I get Not Responding and have to close. THe previous post about converting to AVI is great. But that seems an uncessary step, when my capture software captures in MPEG2 format. It is hard to believe that Media Player will play the file, but Movie Maker only plays the sound. When both are by the same developer and the same codec. What is weird about this problem is that my fujitsu laptop and my hp desktop with windows xp and MM2 will not play the file, but my hp laptop will. ODD?????
More suggestions are welcome.
